Questions people ask about this
- Does the order I put courses in on the CAO form matter?
- Only in that it should be your genuine order of preference. Under the CAO system a course lower on your list can never cost you one higher up, so there is no tactical ordering that improves your outcome. List them in the order you actually want them.
- Can this tell me what points a course will need this year?
- No, and neither can anything else. The points a course lands on depend on who applies and what they score, which nobody knows until the offers are made. This shows what each course has actually taken in recent years and where your total sits against that.
- Why does it say it cannot check the entry requirements?
- The CAO publishes the points for each course but not the subject requirements, which are set by each institution and published on its own site. Rather than guess them, the tool says so and sends you to the institution's own course page.
- Are my grades sent anywhere?
- No. There is no account and no sign-up, and the matching runs in your browser on a file that shipped with the page. Your grades are kept in your own browser so you can come back to them, and they go nowhere else.
