Check and Confirm is an instruction to inspect your application, not an offer of a place. CAO's 2027 handbook says the email is sent before the end of May. If it has not arrived by 1 June, contact CAO immediately. CAO Handbook 2027, printed pages 25–26.

What should you check?

Log in through CAO's own My Application facility. Work through these groups before clicking Confirm:

  • Personal details: name, date of birth and working contact details.
  • Qualifications: every relevant category, examination year and examination number. Do not assume a number is correct because it appears in the account.
  • Exemptions: any approved language exemption that should have been recorded.
  • Course choices: the correct codes, the correct list and your intended order.
  • Correspondence: messages or requests that still need an answer.

CAO specifically asks applicants to check personal, qualification/assessment and course information, then use the Confirm button after following the instructions. Handbook, printed pages 19 and 25–26.

Found a mistake?

Contact CAO immediately using the account's Correspondence section or official contact facility. State exactly which field is wrong and what it should show. Keep the acknowledgement, then check the change appears. Do not create another application to fix the first one. Handbook, printed pages 4 and 25–27.

Some contact details can be edited online. A name change, date-of-birth correction or additional examination category requires an email through the account's Correspondence section. Where a restricted course or mature application is involved, notify the college about changed contact details too. Handbook, printed page 27.

For a missing approved exemption, notify the institution that granted it. An exemption application still being assessed is not the same as an exemption already granted. Handbook, printed page 19.

Check again after changes

Examination-data changes may take up to four weeks to appear. The handbook asks you to verify updated information before the 1 July, 5pm Change of Mind deadline; do not wait until the final day to report an error. A changed course list also needs checking against its email acknowledgement. Handbook, printed pages 26–27.

This is not permission to add any course at any time. Use the Change of Mind rules for course changes and the document guide for missing evidence.

A Check and Confirm email after offers

Applicants without an offer in Round A, Round Zero or Round One receive another Check and Confirm email after Round One. Inspect the application again and report errors; the email itself is not a rejection decision on every later possibility. See what to do without an offer. Handbook, printed page 28.
